This will be an inspiring and joyful opportunity to share and learn from the numerous types of meditation that foster a deeper connection to yourself and others. There will be time for open-hearted discussion and time outside with nature. Gavin Harrison (www.gavinharrison.net) will guide a group meditation.

Public Hike with the Kona Hiking Club
Roger Knoblauch will lead the hike along the Pali Akamoa Gulch Trail (1.2 mile) and the Upland Loop Trail (3-miles). Bring a sack lunch and picnic above NMF Administrative offices after the hike. Stay after lunch to walk along the Wainaia Gulch Trail (2-miles).

Volunteer Appreciation Day
This will be our last volunteer opportunity of 2008 and everyone is welcome to participate in helping to keep our trails open to the public. We’ll enjoy a special picnic lunch with our volunteers to thank them for their time and dedication to keeping Sweet Water Lands beautiful. Long Pants and Sleeves are recommended plus close-toed shoes.

North Kohala Resident Chris Cackley Leads
Rigorous Public Hike at NMF
Chris Cackley, experienced guide, offers a 7-mile hike to veteran hikers. Terrain may include open pasture, gulch, ironwood and eucalyptus forests and macadamia nut orchards. The views are incomparable from the elevation just below the Kohala Mountain tops.
Less-traveled adventurers may join NMF Staff on a more leisurely paced hike. |
